Stunning result for DC after being down and seemingly out for a while. They'll cherish this performance from their two unheralded gems and gain a lot of confidence out of it, while LSG would be pretty shellshocked at the moment. Their bowling concerns were no secret coming into this game but who would've thought it would haunt them so badly after a bright start. Not to forget the runs they left out there earlier. Lots to unpack from this one. But that's all we have for now. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. It's a goodbye from Sagar Chawla on behalf of Venky, Praveen Kumar and Nikhil Jadhav.
Ashutosh Sharma | POTM: Took the lessons from last year.Missed out on finishing the game on a couple of occasions in the previous season. The whole year I focussed and visualised about it. Had the belief that if I play till the last over, anything can happen. Well played to Vipraj. I asked him to keep hitting. He was very calm under pressure. Want to dedicate this award to my mentor Shikhar paaji.
Axar Patel | DC captain: Get used to it now. It's going to be like this only under my captaincy, Things will be up and down a little. Now that we have won, people won't complain about why I gave that over to Stubbs. Don't remember the last time I saw something like this. The way they played in the first six overs, we felt we gave a few too many early on. We dropped some catches as well. It looked like they could score 240, but we pulled things back. We know how much potential he has (Vipraj Nigam).

Faf du Plessis: What do you reckon of the new kit! Amazing game of cricket, lot of cricketers - they will complain about the new rule in IPL. That's why the new rule is there, when you think the game is dead and buried someone comes on and plays like that. I will drink more masala tea and enjoy that. To be honest, when I looked that wicket, saw how much the ball was gripping and losing 5 wickets, thought it was an impossible task. My old brain told me that you are never out of the game and the extra batter makes so much difference. As an overseas player, so may Indian players can strike it so big. The two boys were effortless with their striking. Reminded me a lot of the 438 game against Australia when Makhaya Ntini got 1 at the end. That's the most important single that Mohit has got in his life, beautiful forward defence. Lots of life left in the old dog - the nature of the IPL, there's turnover, you will think you will stay at one franchise. There is lots of movement in the auctions. New team and new chapter for me. Moving from Chennai to RCB was a good chapter, the last chapter of the book - how long the pages may be will be with the new team.
Rishabh Pant: I think our top-order batters played really well and I think it was a pretty good score on this wicket. As a team we are looking to take positives from every match and as a team we are looking to learn from it (every match.) The more basics we do right, the more it is going to be better for us in the future. We got early wickets, but we knew it was a good wicket to bat on. We had to keep doing the basics right more often than not. I think they had a couple of good partnerships. One with Stubbs, with Ashutosh and one with one other guy (Vipraj Nigam.) I think he (Nigam) did a pretty good job and took the game away from us. There was enough for the bowlers, but I think we could have done the basics right. We felt the pressure, we are still settling in, but a lots of positives to take from this match. Definitely luck plays a part in this game and if it could have missed his (Mohit Sharma's) pads, it was a chance for stumping. But these things happen in the game of cricket, you can't focus on these things, but rather you need to play better cricket.
23:24 Local Time, 17:54 GMT, 23:24 IST: Well here comes the first proper thriller from IPL 2025! At 113/6, with close to 100 needed off just 45 balls, not many would've seen this coming. But everytime it looked like the game was over for DC, they came back with a bang. It started with an absolute blinder from Vipraj Nigam who played an incredible knock of 39 off just 15 balls to announce his arrival in the IPL. Some of the shots from him were very special and he's going to be one to watch out for. But the killer punch came from Ashutosh Sharma as he muscled the LSG bowlers to the floor with his powerhitting. With enough grip on offer from the pitch, Pant backed his spinners towards the death, but Bishnoi missed his lengths very badly in the 18th over, while Shahbaz also bowled one right in the slot with just 5 runs left. Prince Yadav, who showed some good skills with his yorkers, missed his execution in his last two overs as well, going for 20 and 16 respectively. Time for the presentations..
